Dental Bridges
|
A dental bridge is used to fill a space where a tooth is missing. There are different types of dental bridges. Typically a bridge will consist of a “pontic” which fills the empty space and two “abutments” (crowns), one on each side of the pontic. As with a crown, a dental bridge will require 2 visits and will need to be constructed by a dental laboratory. Leaving a space in the mouth from a missing tooth can cause numerous other problems if left untreated. The teeth surrounding the missing space may begin to shift, which can lead to problems with your bite and even periodontal issues down the road. |
